HOME Deadline8 Mar 2004 This is an open call to all AAI members for what you think a HOME is or should be. Members of the public have been asked to submit their ideas as well. HOME will be a joint exhibition to begin in late March to compare what members of the public and what architects think a HOME should be. The idea is to encourage the public to be more involved in the debate on architecture. Together with the exhibition there will be an open discussion to initiate the debate amongst a greater audience. The HOME is central to everyday life and the aim is to provide examples of what is possible to do with a HOME. Projects can be real or theoretical, extensions or new builds, apartments, basically anything to do with a HOME. In conjunction with the annual lecture series speakers will be asked to submit a HOME of their choosing which will be exhibited at that time. The theme of HOME will run throughout the AAI programme up until June 2005. Entries are to submit what they think a HOME is or should be by Monday 8th of March 2004 no later than 12.00pm to "HOME", AAI, 8 Merrion Square, Dublin 2. A curator will select works from all submissions which will be displayed together in one space. The AAI would like to thank the following companies and organisations without whom it would be impossible to implement our annual programme. THE AAI INSURANCE POLICY COVERS ONLY PAID-UP MEMBERS OF THE AAI, FOR INSTANCE CHILDREN ARE NOT COVERED. ENTRANCE TO SITE COULD BE REFUSED TO NON-AAI MEMBERS.
