Europe between the lines
Dara McGrath
In 1993, the European Union decommissioned its internal borders, making these heavily guarded no man's lands sadder, stranger, half-used places. Travelling over 35,000 miles within these lands, I am documenting this changing landscape of integration and europeanisation.
The structures which are in these lands, ironically generic but hiding so much of each nation's history, are now slowly being reclaimed into this huge, androgynous Europe.
The Europe we have now is slowly changing, making this no.go area between countries a thing of the past. Soon it will be comparable to travelling from A to B with huge blue euro signs, identifying one region from the next.
