A group of conservationists, incorporating as Lancefort Limited, Co. No. 258460 is successfully opposing this scheme in the High Court on legal grounds which include that Bord Pleanala operated unconstitutionally and in breach of EU law. Lancefort's legal advice is that there is a strong likelihood that the Irish Courts or, if necessary, the European Court of Justice will rule as Lancefort asserts, that An Bord Pleanala unlawfully in failing to direct their mind as to whether or not there should have been an environmental impact assessment involving the public. After six days in the High Court Lancefort was awarded leave for judicial review but the High Court also said that in order to continue its action Lancefort need to provide money as a bond as 'security for costs' to show its good faith.

Lancefort needs twenty individuals to donate £1,000 each to meet their bond. If they win the case, money will be returned. Liability is strictly limited to your contribution.
