Archeire was established and is maintained by Paul Clerkin. A native of Monaghan, he graduated from the National College of Art and Design (NCAD) with a Degree in Industrial Design in 1992. Between 1994 and 1996, he did a MA in History of Art and Design at NCAD, on the subject of Michael Scott and Busaras.

From 1996 to 1999 he worked for Nua, an Internet consultancy and developer. In early 1999, he left to co-found Volta Digital Media Ltd as a high-level Internet consultancy. Since then Volta has successfully developed many of Ireland's leading sites and developed in-house projects of its own.

In mid 2000, he left Volta to form Desire Publishing Ltd with Michael Cunningham, to further develop P45.net, the highly popular online community and entertainment site. In autumn 2000 P45.net won a prestigious European award for online content, beating such sites as the Wall Street Journal and Moreover.com

Paul has guest lectured at NCAD Dublin and the Tallaght Institute of Technology and spoken at EU sponsored events on arts, heritage and multimedia. He was also a judge at the 1997/98 Global Internet Infrastructure Awards - the US equivalent of the Irish Internet Awards. He has recently been a judge in the 2001 School & University Internet Awards sponsored by NTL.

In addition to working on the further development of Archeire, he has recently writen a book published by Gill and Macmillan on Dublin streetnames which was released in May 2001.

Paul has been heavily involved with many arts and design related projects on the Internet, including designing and developing the website for Circa magazine (http://www.recirca.com), and is currently involved in the development of a website in association with Gandon Editions dealing with galleries and exhibitions. He is also involved with HughPearman.com, helping the architectural critic from the UK produce his articles online and create a useful online resource on UK and world architecture.
